Doughnuts are a deep-fried darling in Nashville

Granny Smith Apple Doughnut, Eastland Cafe

If there are apples in a doughnut, it’s healthy, right? Eastland Café’s Granny Smith apple version takes full advantage of the tart fruit and, with the addition of cinnamon sugar, uses it to create a sweet-sour special effect. The orbs are served with a scoop of savory sea salt gelato, too.

Sweet Ricotta Donuts, Lockeland Table

These sweet ricotta donuts come stuffed with homemade jelly filling and covered in powered sugar. You can pretend to keep clean as you carefully eat each one out of the Lockeland paper bag.

These warm dough bites are dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with chocolate and raspberry sauce.

Lemon Curd Beignets, Park Cafe

Park Cafe's beignets (say that five times fast!) are assorted on a base of curry cream cheese sauce, filled with lemon curd, and finished with candy lemon zest sprinkled on top.

Originally developed by chef Josh Habiger, who opened The Patterson House, these cinnamon-sugar sweets have never left the menu. Tossed in a small amount of white sugar and cinnamon, the coating may seem simple, but it’s just enough to elevate these bar snacks into an addictively delicious treat.
