Demure Cocktail Lounge, a refined new cocktail destination from Pikeld Concepts, plans to open its doors to the public in July. Located inside a carefully preserved historic home at 1319 Sixth Avenue North in Nashville’s vibrant Germantown neighborhood, Demure will offer a design-forward cocktail experience inspired by the sophistication and glamour of the 1960s.
Demure’s mid-century modern aesthetic will immerse guests in a richly detailed environment, combining vintage elegance with approachable hospitality. Warm wood paneling, bold geometric wallpaper, vintage sconces and chandeliers, and thoughtfully curated mid-century modern furnishings will transport guests back to an era defined by style, intimacy, and classic cocktail culture.
Throughout, Demure is meticulously designed to pay homage to its historic location, including using original flooring on its bar, and other custom adaptive reuse design touches.
Demure is centered around a meticulously designed cocktail program featuring classic and contemporary libations crafted with house-made syrups, bitters, and infusions. Antique glassware and vintage bar tools add to the ambiance, which is designed to foster intimacy, conversation, and connection. Beyond craft cocktails, Demure also will offer a curated wine list and a rotating selection of beers.
“Demure is meant to feel transportive,” said Steve Barone, leader of Pikeld Concepts and owner of Jackalope Brewing Company, who recently acquired Black Abbey Brewing Company. “We wanted to create something timeless. A place where people step inside and immediately feel immersed in another era. We’re trying to capture and distill the essence of this historic property and the neighborhood around it.”
Barone is a locally based entrepreneur and investor, and his growing commitment to Nashville hospitality through Pikeld Concepts reflects a broader dedication to locally rooted venues and brands with strong identities that deliver memorable guest experiences. The company’s portfolio already includes Amendment 18 in Franklin, with additional concepts in development throughout Middle Tennessee.
“Nashville deserves original concepts with personality,” Barone said. “We are focused on creating venues that people genuinely connect with and places that contribute to the culture of the city and its neighborhoods, rather than concepts that could exist anywhere.”
To lead Demure’s food and beverage operations, Pikeld Concepts appointed Trudy Thomas as Senior Director of Food & Beverage Operations. Thomas has extensive luxury hospitality experience across chef-driven restaurants, resorts, lounges, and private clubs, including leadership roles with Wolfgang Puck Restaurant Group, Marriott International, Gaylord Resort & Convention Centers, and Southworth Clubs. Her expertise spans cocktail development, culinary pairing, luxury service standards, and experiential hospitality programming.
“Trudy’s background and creativity align perfectly with the vision for Demure and Pikeld Concepts,” said Barone. “Her understanding of elevated hospitality and immersive guest experiences will help make Demure one of the most distinctive cocktail destinations in Nashville.”
Said Thomas, “I want Demure to be Germantown’s living room. Every detail and ingredient has been intentionally selected to evoke the sophistication, warmth, and refinement of mid-century cocktail culture while still feeling distinctly Nashville and comfortable for any occasion.”
Demure’s interior and outdoor design is being led by Jessica Adams Designs in partnership with Barone and Thomas and construction is led by Jason Maikkula and Chris Prince of Restore Remodel Renew LLC.
