Nashville restaurateur Shane Nasby, the chef and owner of the popular Cledis Burgers & Beer, announces plans to expand the counter-service concept with a third location in the Gulch area in spring 2026. The new addition will be situated in the former Party Fowl building at the corner of 8th Ave. and Division St.
The eatery will feature Nasby's award-winning burgers as well as wings, salads, sandwiches and an impressive beverage selection, including beer, wine, cocktails and more. In keeping with the Cledis brand theme, the interiors at the Gulch will playfully highlight the nostalgia of pop culture from the 1980s and 1990s, showcasing an impressive collection of retro toys and memorabilia.
"We couldn't be more excited for this new spot," said Nasby. "Over the past few years, we've watched the area completely transform into a dining destination for Nashvillians and visitors alike. Our creative burgers and overall vibe offer a unique and engaging experience that we think will perfectly match the energy of the Gulch. We're truly honored to have the support of our city as we bring another locally-owned restaurant to this already vibrant downtown food scene."
Named for Nasby's grandfather, Cledis Burgers & Beer aims to honor his legacy of kindness and generosity by focusing on its mission to combat hunger and hopelessness in Nashville. In this spirit of giving, the Cledis team donates its time, energy and food, partnering with local nonprofits to provide monthly meals, build relationships and support underprivileged communities in the city.
"I personally know what it's like to grow up with hunger and poverty, so it has been my goal to help others from the moment we launched Cledis," continued Nasby. "If we can offer a little relief in the form of food and friendship, we're going to do that. Opening another location means we'll have even more resources and opportunities to serve our neighbors, and for us, that's what it's all about."
Guests can expect a menu full of creative and delicious smash burgers, such as the Blackberry Smoke, which consists of a grilled onion smashed patty topped with white American cheese, creamy mascarpone, crispy bacon, grilled jalapenos and a smoked blackberry jam, as well as classic options like the Oklahoma Smash, featuring grilled onions, American cheese, pickles and Cledis sauce. Other featured items include melted hoagies, shareable nachos, loaded fries and cheesecake parfaits.
Nasby's burgers aren't just popular with locals. They're nationally ranked and have earned the respect and appreciation of burger enthusiasts nationwide. Namely, the aforementioned Blackberry Smoke recently earned the top spot in the opening round of the World Food Championship's burger category, with an almost-perfect score of 99.6. Nashvillians know a good thing when they taste it, which is why the Blackberry Smoke won first place in Nashville Scene's Burger Week and why Cledis Burgers & Beer was voted Best Burger in the 2025 Best of Nashville awards.
The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
