To kick off the sixth annual Nashville Fashion Week on April 5, models will don the looks of various innovative designers while strutting down the runway.
The proceeds of the event feed the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund which supports the next generation of fashion industry professionals, like 2015 recipient Eric Bornhop of Eric Adler Clothing. This year's participating designers include returning favorites Brooke Atwood, Megan Huntz, Lagi Nadeau, Truly Alvarenga, Ashley Balding, Denise Roxen, and Amanda Valentine, along with NFW newcomers like Daniella Kallmeyer, Michael Drummond, Afriyie Poku, and Francesca Marotta.
Past NFW contributors Andrew Clancey and Kimberly Parker will show their own lines for the first time this year, with first-ever Nashville Forward Fund recipient Julianna Bass, who just successfully debuted her latest line at New York Fashion Week, headlining a ready-to-wear runway show on April 8.
A series of shows lead up to the weekend festivities, such as a surprise interactive accessories installation set to take place at WELD. The weeklong event wraps on April 9 with industry panels at City Winery, followed by the Nashville Fashion Forward Gala at OZ Arts Nashville. The gala will shift the attention toward the fund itselfit includes a seated dinner and the second annual Fashion Forward Awards.
