Anyone who has ever moved knows what a nightmare the process can be. Moving is a major life transition accompanied by a lot of challenges, and unfortunately the stress of logistics can often take away from the excitement of new beginnings. And when you’re dealing with homes in the $2+ million range, there are even more variables to consider with a move.
Amy Gray saw a need in the high-end market for moving management, especially with so many people moving to Nashville every day. More so, she noticed a need for a concierge service to handle all the details whether you’re buying, selling, or settling into a new home; and thus, The Haus of Gray was born. Offering meticulous project management, vetted and trusted vendors, and a sophisticated, tailored experience from start to finish, The Haus of Gray is taking the chaos out of moving.
Gray has always had a passion for creating environments that inspire and empower, which led her to start her first venture, LESS, her acclaimed home organization company. It was through this business that she earned a reputation for blending beauty and functionality. LESS led to more, laying the foundation for her next venture, The Haus of Gray.
“Through LESS, I started offering move management through the organizing company, just basically off market demand. All the droves of people moving to Nashville, I was like, ‘OK, this is a market, this is a need,’” Gray explains. “What I started to notice in those projects over the years is the client would be really happy with us, but they ultimately weren’t happy at the end of their move in general. My organizing business is targeted towards the luxury market, so we’re doing really high-end and there are a lot of different moving parts. You’ve got movers, you’ve got interior designers, the organizers are just one tiny piece of the puzzle. I noticed they were happy at the end of their project, but they were mad at their designer, or their movers broke things; something was always prohibiting them from having an actual happy end result with the entire move. I was like, ‘What if I built this company where I had control over these vendors and I can vet these vendors, and do extensive background checks, and NDAs, and really build a company at the caliber of what that high-net-worth celebrity client requires?’”
Encompassing all the pieces of that puzzle, The Haus of Gray acts as the project manager, keeping everything cohesive and enabling the client to work with just them, rather than multiple different vendors. One of Gray’s top priorities was ensuring experts across every field, and she spent an entire year strictly interviewing vendors to find the best fit. The result? Services that clients can trust ranging from move management, luxury real estate, home organization, interior design, home automation, and more. Clients can even opt for additional amenities like private transportation to and from airports, and services, including pre-move massages, luxury hotel stays, or curated family dinners.
“It’s very customizable and very unique to each client’s needs. T hat can be someone saying, ‘I need you to get my fleet of cars from LA to Nashville.’ So, not only are we moving the contents of homes, sometimes it’s actual compounds where there are multiple structures, so there’s a ton of different moving parts that require a lot of different planning,” says Gray. “It’s all the different things: the window treatments, the design, thinking through the function of your home as far as organization, like, ‘where will my backstock for my toilet paper be?’ Our handyman’s hanging pictures on the wall. Wallpaper, lighting installation; it’s all those little details and pieces that really turn a house into a home.”
Gray knows the significance of entrusting someone with all the cherished memories and possessions a home holds, and it’s a responsibility she doesn’t take lightly. Eliminating the stress of a move and seeing a client’s face when they walk into their new home happy, relaxed, and eager to settle into their new lives is what The Haus of Gray is all about.
