It was in 1963 that two brothers, Natan and David Wekselbaum, opened the doors of a 2,000-square-foot hardware store on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
Over time, the shop eventually grew to more than 40,000-square-feet—with several locations throughout the city—and it evolved into the luxury, high-end home décor store that it is today. About four years ago, however, new ownership took over Gracious Home and an expansion of the New York City mainstay was underway. Owner Tom Sullivan and CEO/ President, Jason Delves—also owner and CEO of Cabinets to Go, respectively—took over and just recently decided to open a brick-and- mortar location in Franklin. It was an obvious choice given that the headquarters were already here, and Nashville is growing so rapidly and evolving into a cosmopolitan mecca. It just made sense to the duo to open a Gracious Home location in middle Tennessee.
While Gracious Home may have come from humble beginnings, the shop provides luxury furnishings for their guests. From custom beds down to the mattresses, luxury bedding lines, decorative pillows, lighting, accent furniture and more, Gracious Home offers distinctive and unexpected, yet classic offerings. They even feature local artists to provide their visitors with one-of-a-kind pieces, including art, accessories and jewelry.
Gracious Home’s space is used to its maximum—and most chic—potential. The walls are lined with high-end cabinetry stocked with plush bath towels and other luxe linens, designer dishware, and throw pillows aplenty. Look up and you’ll notice the glamorous lighting options, which provide the perfect ambiance for shopping while also serving as a display for your own decorating needs. Not only does the shop look beautiful, it smells fabulous, too. That’s thanks to a heavenly assortment of candles and room sprays. You’ll find a variety of brands including Nest Fragrances, Voluspa, and more just waiting to make your own home smell as inviting.
With a plethora of products (did we mention they also offer an outdoor line, Thos Baker?), Gracious Home offers something chic for every home at every turn.
