The team behind the boutique event planning service 12th Table doesn't let the grass grow under their feet. Since launching just over a year ago, they've partnered with venues like The Cordelle and Peter Nappi on myriad weddings and special events. And now they're helping the local community's artistic efforts blossom, thanks to an every-other-month flower-arranging workshop called Fleurs & Fizz.
Caroline Jones, a seasoned floral designer and 12th Table team member, leads the workshops, which take place at a different location each time. Guests arrive and start with bubbles and light bites; then Jones gets them working on an arrangement by demonstrating the proper techniques to snip, shape, and style a selection of branches, buds, and blooms while also making the rounds and giving attendees personalized attention when needed.
'The concept behind 12th Table has always been to create thoughtful, well-designed gatherings for people,” company founder Megan Proby explains. 'We're a small, Nashville-grown business, so we want to be intentional about curating some really beautiful, locally oriented experiences. Fleurs & Fizz is a chance to learn a new art form and meet some new, likeminded people, but it's also creating that experience in some of Nashville's most special spacesplaces that inspire us and that we want to share with others.”
Fleurs & Fizz costs $150 a person, which includes champagne, appetizers, a vase, and, of course, the final product: a bright floral arrangement, complete with a detailed 'ingredient card” so participants can re-create the process at home. The next Fleurs & Fizz will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on June 10 at Miel Restaurant. More information at fleursandfizz.com.
